EU Policy
We support the reform of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). We build on best practice and multistakeholder collaboration to design rules for sustainable financial products based on clear criteria, KPIs and improved transparency.
SFDR is the cornerstone of the European sustainable finance system. It provides principle-based rules for sustainable products. In practice, this flexible approach confuses many investors and leads to transparency and comparability of performance of the sustainable products that leaves much to be desired.
We contribute to the consensus among EU policymakers, investors and civil society on how to best tackle SFDR reform by:
- Building understanding among stakeholders on what information and evidence of practice is needed for a good decision on how should SFDR be reformed.
- Identifying best practice in the market to provide directions for the improvements.
- Conducting targeted research into implementation of the SFDR to provide understanding of the quality, clarity, comparability and meaningfulness of information on sustainable products disclosed by investors to consumers.
- Promoting coherence with Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) on priorities, criteria and disclosures.
